TALE OF PINK SEA SAILS !!!: Mirror on the wall

TALE OF PINK SEA SAILS !!!: Mirror on the wall: I'm sure you have heard about the magical mirror. It is a mystical object in the story of 'Snow white and the seven dwarfs' ...

Mirror on the wall

I'm sure you have heard about the magical mirror. It is a mystical object in the story of 'Snow white and the seven dwarfs' . It was owned by an evil queen. Every morning the queen stood in front of the mirror and asked " mirror mirror on the wall , who is the fairest of them all ? " and the mirror always replied " you my dear queen ,  you are the fairest of them all ! " .Guess she wanted to hear only that right ? Because when Snow white was born the mirror replied " Snow white is the fairest of them all " . The queen was so furious that she sent her huntsmen down to kill Snow white. But why did this happen ? Because this was the mentality of the evil queen - 'I'm always perfect . I'm always special' . Just like each and everyone of us.

Most of us today walk around with the ' I am perfect attitude' .We are not open to negative suggestions , remarks or feed backs but finding faults in others is as easy as eating an ice - cream. This happens everywhere in our day to day life. For example, you look at someone and say " she doesn't have a taste for music. " . So what if she doesn't have a taste for music ? She might be an excellent tennis player and you aren't .

Each person is born with the special talent or maybe more than one special talent. I might not always wear the right clothes or right shoes , I might not always look like a fashion model or I might not always cook like a french chef but I am still human.

We are all born to this planet earth where human beings live. Human beings are imperfect. You might not always do what others expect from you. But you are special and you are unique. There is no one  like you in this world.
Trust me if you are hunting for perfect people on this planet , you are hunting for snowballs in the dessert .

CHESSBOARD

The type of checkerboard in a board game of chess that consists of 64 squares arranged in two alternate colors - light and dark. The colors are also called  "black" and "white".
Well... I'm not gonna talk or explain about a chessboard or how a game of chess is to be played.
But there is a similarity between the world and the chessboard. A competition between the blacks and the whites.

You look at a girl and say "Hey she is pretty but she is dark " or "though she is dark she is pretty " . A child is born to someone. The first question among the family members ," is he/she fair or dark ? or a medium complexion ? ".
I remember my school days when a student with a fair complexion entered the class, the rest of the students would go " I guess he/she is really good at studies" or "I guess he/she is from a rich family". When a student with a medium or a dark complexion got out of one of the most expensive cars, "Oh my goodness he/she has got a car! ... I didn't know he/she was rich ...at least doesn't look rich". Are we going to let the youth grow-up with this mentality?

Racism has existed throughout human history.Even a country like India isn't free from racism. It is the hatred of one person by another or the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another on the basis of skin color , language , customs or any inborn biological characteristics. In history racism was a driving force to slave trade in certain nations.
Practices and ideologies of racism are universally condemned by the united nations in the declaration of human rights.

The world is a chessboard divided into the "blacks" and the "whites". Color differentiation is not something you are born with. It is something you learn as you grow up. It is up to us to overcome this inequality and make the world a better place to live in.

"NO ONE IS BORN HATING ANOTHER PERSON BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN OR THE BACKGROUND OR HIS RELIGION. PEOPLE MUST LEARN TO HATE, & IF THEY CAN LEARN TO HATE THEY CAN BE TAUGHT TO LOVE FOR LOVE COMES MORE NATURALLY TO THE HUMAN HEART THAN ITS OPPOSITE . "

TALE OF PINK SEA SAILS !!!: IT HAPPENED TO ME ?!Hey woMAN
Are you shouting in...
: IT HAPPENED TO ME ?! Hey woMAN  Are you shouting in the middle of the crowd with nobody to listen to you ??? !!! Well its not surpri...

IT HAPPENED TO ME ?!

Hey woMAN

Are you shouting in the middle of the crowd with nobody to listen to you ??? !!! Well its not surprising , is it ? After all we women are defined as the 'weaker sections of the society' ?

'ACTS ENFORCED TO PREVENT EXPLOITATION OF WOMEN' , 'JUSTICE TO WOMEN' , 'RESPECT WOMEN' ... these terms are confined to books and newspapers.

She is raped on the streets ,she is harassed through social networking sites and cell phones, physical abuse, she cannot walk out of her house because its dark outside, the only time of the day she is not questioned is in the mornings when she leaves for work ... but awesome !!! there is somebody at her workplace too targeting her, harassing her, taking undue advantage of his position.

Its always she who dies , gets locked up at home and above all resigns from work . The 'woman' who is a victim herself is punished always. 'MAN' are you so strong ? so influential ? that no matter what you do , there is always somebody fighting for you or covering up for you.

The woman approaches so many people for help . They ask for proof , they ask you if you have any clue of his behavior in the past ( oh c'mon ...he is not my family member that I should know the history of his past ) . Above all a number of people run away from her saying that "they can do nothing because they are not in a position to " , they say " all they can do is give you moral support" . Is moral support going to stop the man from harassing other women ?

But the man who is a criminal has people at the top management and sadly other women too covering up for him. The woman has a valid proof , the man has no proof ...just mere words like 'drunk' , 'by mistake' . And he is allowed to roam around like a free bird . By the end of the day the only person who would stand up for the woman is the woman herself.

To all the women out there ... "respect yourself... respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you or makes you happy ... stand up for yourself , fight for yourself and for your justice until your last day " . Respect other women as much as you respect yourself . because today it might be your friend , colleague or neighbour . Tomorrow it might be ''YOU' .Thats when you end up asking yourself " IT HAPPENED TO ME ?! "

YES ...THE MAN WHO HARASSES YOU IS A CRIMINAL ... BUT THE REAL CRIMINALS ARE THE PEOPLE WHO COVER UP FOR THE CRIMINAL !!!

GOT MY FINGER INKED ?!

Are you thinking that I have got some 'cool tattoo' on my finger ?! No ... I got a 'tattoo' on my left thumb that gave me a sense of pride . I had done my duty as the citizen of India .Yes!!! I casted my first vote.

17th of April 2014 .Thursday was declared a holiday. Brighter than the morning sun my voters' ID said I'm 21. I don't have to ask my parents anymore " how do you vote? " . I could make my own decisions. I could choose my leader. I felt responsible as a citizen.

India was gearing up for the elections . Few steps from where I live... right from the entrance, the polling staff including the security personnel were very much cooperative and well trained. I walked through the door that was numbered 54 & placed my finger on the lotus flower.

"On the first stroke of midnight ... when the clock strikes 12 India shall awaken to freedom ", said the former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on the 24th of August 1947. But is India really free ? Are we actually experiencing our freedom of thought & expression ? Aren't we still fighting among ourselves in the name of religion and community ? Don't we differentiate between caste , creed & races ? These questions remain unanswered.  Above all we are still experiencing corruption , injustice , poverty & partiality . The youth & the poor are still exploited . Women are treated as liabilities to the society. In the end every Indian is still fighting for his/her rights.

When I said that I placed my finger on the lotus flower did it mean that I'm the strong supporter of a group ? No... It only meant that I'm a strong supporter of the man whom I thought would help India have a bright future. Even when it comes to choosing a leader we form groups & throw abusive words at each other. What about the concept "All Indians are my brothers & sisters ? ".

India needs a change and that change can only be brought by the people. Waiting in the queue to cast my vote made me feel empowered. Since we are in a democratic country, where the power lies with the common man, there's no reason why we shouldn't vote.

The youth are the future of our nation. I don't belong to any political group . I belong to a group called 'YOUNG INDIA' . Few years from now watching India as a developed country would be a dream come true !!!

FAILURE IS THE STEPPING STONE TO SUCCESS SUICIDE ?????!!!!!

I'M TIRED OF BEING THE ONE WHO CHEERS UP PEOPLE BECAUSE WHEN I'M IN NEED OF SOMEONE THERE IS NOBODY TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER ...

Every morning you get up, you sit at the porch with the day’s newspaper and your cup of tea; don’t you read at least one headline in bold letters that has the word ‘SUICIDE’? You get back home late in the evening exhausted with the day’s work , you relax on the couch , pick up the television remote , switch channels until u reach a news channel. Once again you see that somebody has either hanged themselves, burnt themselves alive or poisoned themselves. Exactly! Looks like the increasing number makes us realize that ‘suicide’ has become a common and permanent solution to a temporary problem.

But what is the reason? Psychologists say it is a mental disorder or depression that arises when you upset yourself too much. But what is the reason to upset you?  Failure in exams?  Failure in love? Family problems? Friendship problems? You feel like you are nothing? There are people who make you feel that you don’t deserve to get what you want? & above all……. facebook posts? Hmm… your life itself is a problem and ending it would mean ending all your problems. Now that’s the attitude of the present generation. Little do they know that life is always the way we see it. Simple and complicated at the same time.

If you have failed in your exams, life always gives you a second chance to correct your mistakes & try again provided you don’t end it. Or if you don’t want the second chance; try something new. Not all famous personalities or achievers were rank holders at school or college. Skills and talents vary from person to person. Bill Gates - "I failed in some subjects in exam, but my friend passed in all. Now he is an engineer in Microsoft and I am the owner of Microsoft."
If somebody doesn’t love you back think about those other people who actually love & care for you. When you kill yourself you fail those people who promised to never fail you in life. Don’t you think this is an act of injustice you do to yourself and the world? You can’t make someone love you but be someone who can be loved.
If you feel that people are using mean words against you & you can’t ask them to shut up, instead of using a rope, a knife, a bottle of poison or standing on the edge of a building why don’t you consider using your earphones to plug your ears. Your earphones help you to hear words & voices that will definitely brighten your mood.
If you feel that you did not get a ‘thumbs up’ on facebook… Ask yourself, "why do you need one?" You don’t need facebook to tell you that you are beautiful. All you have to do is look at yourself in the mirror on the wall.  If somebody points out that you are lame … Ask him/her if he/she knows more about you than you know about yourself?

Positive attitude, self – confidence, hard work & perseverance are the key solutions.  Remember to spend some time listing out your positive qualities. Don’t worry about the negatives because there are people out there already listing them for you.  You fail, fall, cry , work hard , succeed & smile… so that some day in the future you would look back & actually say that “ Failure is the stepping stone to suicide success “ .

If you hate your life. Change your way of living.

LIFE IS MEANT FOR LIVING NOT JUST SURVIVING!!!

TALE OF PINK SEA SAILS !!!

SAFFRON - Sacrifice
WHITE – Pure
GREEN – Kindness
BLUE – Loyalty
RED – warning
PINK - ??????????

Well .... what does the colour pink stand for ? Of course every time we see something in pink we remember “GIRLS” “WOMEN”!!! So is this the reason pink is described as such a weak & girly colour?

I have a pink phone panel , pink wallet , pink lip gloss , pink headphones , pink shoes , pink handbag , most of my outfits are pink , my nails are painted pink , the walls of my room are painted pink ...... oh my !!! its just pink all over . But why should this mean I'm weak & girly ?! Is it because 'pink' stands for 'women' the weaklings of the society?

Since ancient times women have always been ranked as second-rate citizens world wide . Even developed countries are not free from such a presumption. It sometimes makes me wonder if equality & respect for women are only limited to books. Are our women really free to express their views ? Are they treated in par with men ? No . Not yet .

We live in a men-dominated society where we want to limit our women to cooking , household & baby care. The only women respected are the women who allow their strings to be pulled like a puppet or the ones who allow themselves to be treated like a programmable robot with no say to control. If a girl tries to remain independent and says that she cannot give up her life and career she is considered as a dominating brat , demanding & selfish. By the end of the day it's the woman who has to step into the man's shoes.

How many countries have had a woman president ? How many countries have had women who have made it to the top in the corporate or business world ? Instead we still notice an increase in rape & suicide cases among women , dowry system , abortion of girl child & child marriage just to get rid off the girl who is considered as a major burden to the family.

The empowerment of women can only begin with their participation in different spheres of life. Our sons grow up to become doctors , engineers or work for multinational companies but why are our daughters limited to basic degrees & marriage ? After all these decades women have only been fighting for equal rights , equal pay & an equal position. Women need economical independence for which education is the only solution.

I'm a girl sailing away in search of tomorrow on every shore with girly pink sails learning to develop problem solving skills, battling uncontrollable winds & rough waves .People might laugh at my pink sails but I'm determined to make it stylish and girly. They might treat me just like a book . If the cover doesn't catch the eyes they might refuse to read what is inside me but I refuse to be anchored at the harbour. Adventure and exploring are what I need .
And that is exactly what is behind “THE TALE OF PINK SEA SAILS!!! “

THE BUSY SCHEDULE COMBINED WITH THE ‘ME ATTITUDE’
I used to ask myself “why am I a huge fan of Taylor Swift?”… Of course certain lines from her songs inspire me & I can relate them to situations in my life. But in a different way.
“Someday I’ll be living in a big old city, why you gotta be so mean? “
“A simple complication, mis-communication lead to fall out “
“You held your pride like you should have held me “
“This is looking like a contest on who can act like they care less”.

Every time I listen to these lines I know for sure why most of us don’t share a good relation with our families, friends, relatives & neighbours

All of us are guilty in one way or the other for not keeping in better touch with our near & dear ones. Have you ever used the term “I’m too busy” to avoid your friend or a family member? Or are you really busy? Or is it just a code word that you use because you want to get rid of that other person from your life without hurting his/her feelings? A lot of friendships & relationships have broken due to lack of communications.

The present day technology has given us so many ways to communicate with a person or to just stop by & say “hey how you doing? “ . We have chosen these social networking sites as means to show our anger, hatred & jealousy. Ignore the other person’s text messages; do not confirm his/her request. Block, ‘unfriend’ your friend or family member… instead why don’t you be honest & say “when you do this/that it bothers me “. In the present day most of our lives are piled up with our own work & studies which can be stressful. Once again why can’t you be honest “I have work/exams today … can we reschedule something for this date/time? “. In this scenario the whole idea of “I’m too busy” seems like a flimsy excuse as each person is busy in his/her own way & it’s just a matter of priorities.

No matter how old you are or where you are people pick on you, they are mean to you or ignore you just because you are different or because they live in bigger cities or developed countries now, they feel that they need to block you out or they feel that they don’t want to say ‘hi’ to you anymore because they think need their time for people better than you. For a person like me it’s kind of tough & that’s when I feel like asking “someday even I’ll be living in a big old city, why do you have to be so mean to me or why do you want to ignore me?”

Just because simple complications & mis communications have kept us apart we hold our pride like we should hold on to each other & almost every day we play contests on who can act like they care less.  Instead of complaining that my brother/sister, my cousin, my friend or my partner doesn't understand my feelings, why don’t you tell him/her how you feel about it? In the end it would make the world a better place to live in.  All you have to do is give up the
‘ME ATTITUDE’.

KHALIL GIBRAN QUOTES:
No matter how busy a man is, he is never too busy to stop by & talk about how busy he is!!

'YESTERDAY' IS JUST
A MEMORY!!!

A few days ago I was really getting kind of nostalgic, and missing my childhood, this is the best attempt to grasp those feelings. Do you remember the time when we couldn't wait to grow up? What were we thinking?
Those were the days when a pleasant laugh was brought about by the simplest game & fights happened over a toy.
Friendships were quickly made. Jealousy & anger were replaced by joy & trust. Being independent meant trying my own shoes & all the world’s problems were only on the news. No one cared how we dressed. We could be ourselves without being judged.
I miss those days of innocence where the hardest decision in life was picking a crayon; ‘swearing’ was a bad thing, there wasn't such a thing as ‘rumor’, the only number was our house number, we didn't keep track of the ‘last seen on whats app which saved us from the trouble of texting all day, didn't count the number of ‘likes’ on Facebook & the only music we listened to was on Disney.
Truly the memories of childhood have their own nostalgia. With the passage of time we miss this bliss & grow more attached to childhood. A child has no worries, anxieties, no work. Those were the days of simplicity which have flown so quickly. Nevertheless childhood was a never ending vacation, a weekend without a week following & playtime everlasting. We do not remember the days, we remember the moments.
Time ends but memories last forever. Learn from the past but live for the future. Your future starts today
