They might treat me just like a book . If the cover doesn't catch the eyes they might refuse to read what is inside me but I refuse to be anchored at the harbour. HURT ?! BROKEN ?! LET IT GO ?!👂

Kids , Adults or teens . We have all been hurt. We have all gone through some kind of emotional pain.  Sometimes  you wish your mind had a delete button and by clicking on it you could delete all the disturbing thoughts.  ‘Chuk it’ , ‘leave it’ , ‘let it go and move on’ ... These words are easier said than done.

What do we do with these hurt feelings ? I guess the decision is ours . We allow these hurt feelings  to make us bitter or better ? We can either shut ourselves down and let it destroy us completely or we can make a choice up-front to make space for new joy and happiness in our lives.

Over the course of time I have learnt that people are not always going to be there for you. We live in an age where we cannot count on our friends always . Of course not every person who shakes hands with you is your friend. The only person you can count on is ‘you’.  Instead of being a friend to you people are only going to exclaim about how awesome their friends are. Sometimes all you need is a ‘listening ear’. But you end up listening to empty words.

During a particular bad incident you notice people choose to be where there is money , power and fame. It’s human psychology. Very few stand up for you. Very few stand up for the truth.  In a situation like this you have to stop because even though you have everything sometimes you are absolutely broken from the inside.

The only option you have is to make the commitment to let it go . When you are filled with pain and hurt you cannot open up for anything new. The future seems very unclear.  Are you going to live the rest of your life like this ? Believe in time . It heals everything. No you are not going to forget a bad incident. But with time you will be able to live with this.

There is no use of resorting to the ‘blame game’ because you cannot always expect an apology from the other person. It’s like how the famous singer Selena Gomez says “ kill them with kindness”. It’s so true right ? Everyday we are all fighting to be right without realizing that every time we do this a small piece of us dies.

I can be sure of one thing out of personal experience. Often it’s not the incident that kills you. It’s the way the society treats you because of the incident. It’s like one bad incident overshadows all your positive qualities not matter how talented, smart, intelligent , caring and humble you are.

We will definitely make an effort to let it go but if there is one thing that you should know it's this :

“Nobody deserves to be identified by the worst thing that has ever happened to them ( which is completely out of their hands) . There are so many other qualities to choose from “.

YOUR CHOICE NOT THEIR'S !

Education , the art of learning things around us is a part and parcel of life. It is the basic  right of every human being. Well being of the society depends on the well being of the people. In the recent past various steps have been taken by the government to improve education status in the country. Students have abundant options to choose from. But are you choosing your career wisely ? Are you doing what you like ?

Career is something that helps us support ourselves throughout our lives making it one of the important decisions in life. It's a well known saying that if you choose a job you love you will not have to work a single day in your life. But for the past few years I have noticed most of the younger generation in the Indian society choosing something what their parents like, choosing something that they feel is a prestige in the society or choosing something because you want all your friends in the same college/university.
Have you ever asked yourself  " what's my choice ? " . Do you really want to become an engineer, a doctor , a pilot or a lawyer ? Or did u just get into it because somebody kept pressing on you too much ? In the end all you see is a lack of interest among students , peer pressure and increase in suicide rates.

At the age of 13 I decided to become a Chartered Accountant. My parents have been supporting my choice since then . A number of people poured in with discouraging statements saying " Oh my God! why such a difficult path ? Why not medical or engineering instead ? " . Like medical and engineering are easy. I politely pushed them aside saying " It's my choice !" .

I used to hear my friends saying " I wanted to study psychology but my dad wanted me to become an engineer or my mom wanted me to become a doctor" . But did you ever consider what you would like to be in the future ? No you didn't . Because that's the way you are brought up. You are compared with others. you tried to compete with others .
Competition cannot be accepted unless it's a healthy competition. Comparing yourself and trying to impress the rest of the society will not lead you anywhere.

I wish more parents in India would ASK their kids " What they would like to become ? " instead of TELLING them "What they should become ? ". It would bring out the unique talent in each and every one of them. I also wish that more students in the future would be bold enough to do what they like. After all " The choice is your's . Not their's ! "

   BEAT THE HEAT !!!

With the warm skies and rising sun high above you see people patrolling the streets with their shades on & shopping bags , boards and hoardings with 'up to 50% discount ' on new collections, new trailers are up so you know it's time to book tickets & grab your popcorn at big cinemas & cinepolis or maybe to visit the nearby ice-cream parlour. Parks and malls are flocking with teenagers and little children. Yes ! it's summer .

With summer comes all kinds of fun opportunities to enjoy the outdoors including boating. When the sun is on your face , the wind is in your hair and the spray is keeping you cool , it's easy to leave safety behind. As the weather heats up , families will seek refuge in the cool waters of their neighbourhood or backyard pools.

In this popularly known 'season of the sun' , holiday breaks are on your mind. The beach is the plan for the day. With the sunscreen to protect them from harm and with sand between their toes people are seen walking and looking out across the bay with cold drinks taken by the bottle. The air is filled with the laughter of little children as they build sand castles or spot a dolphin across the sea with ice-cream melting down their arms.

The evenings are usually spent by enjoying the breeze & taking in all the local sights. The birds fall asleep , peepers start to peep & slowly the sun beams caressing the mountains turn them into splendorous fountains. A fire pit is perfect for roasting marshmallows in the backyard , warming up a cool evening on the patio or adding a decorative touch to your outdoor living room.

Summer is the stuff of dreams. When we sit at our desks during the monsoons , we look out the window and dream of summer. It is the time of infinite fun that seems to last forever . It is the time of excitement & enhanced enjoyment of life. Somehow it is always over before we get a chance to fully experience it's power. This is true of all wonderful things. They always seem too short.

Well... what are you waiting for ??? Grab your wallets , car keys & hit the road ... it's time to beat the heat!!! ... Because winter will definitely ask you, "WHAT YOU DID ALL SUMMER ???!!! "
